How do I get my fax program to dial the new area code without dialing a "1"

I have Syncro Multimedia Connect on my computer to send and receive 'fax messages. I live in Scottsdale, AZ, part of the Phoenix metro area, which is currently being split into three telephone area codes. Syncro automatically programs a "1" ahead of the 10-digit phone nuumber, making an 11-didit dialup. The new Phoenix areacodes do not require the "1" ahead of the number; all that is required is a 10-digit dialup.

Finally, the question: How can I inactivate the automatic "1" in SyncroMedia? Since I have never been able to locate their tech support (I think they don't have any), can you help me?

Thanks! [email protected] (Fred)

I'm not too familiar with that specific program, but I would see if there is a way to disable area code usage completely and do that Then, in the phone number column, type in areacode number as if it were all one number If your program works anything like Dial Up Networking, this should "fool" the program into dialing the area code without the 1.
