Since we upgraded to win 95 I can't get the modem to work. Control panel/modems shows the modem on Com 1, but nothing works with it. I know the modem was installed on Com 2(since this Pre-historic Packard Bell has a 2400 hard wired on Com1)

but I can't even get the machine to show Com @ now.

How do I get this to recognize Com 2 and how do I disable the hardwired modem on COM 1?

Thanks, Dan Judge

UNANSWEREDTry reinstalling the drivers first. You can do this by going to my computer, right clicking ,choosing properties, clicking on device manager, and clicking ont he plus sign in front of modems Highlight the driver ,click remove and restart your computer If that doesn't work , go to the bios and flash the orginial configuration settings.

This is done by restating the computer, tapping the f1 key (it may be different on your computer) and going tothe bios and hitting the f5 key to flash the orginal configuration, hit the f10 key to exit and give it a try.You may want to check help on your computer to see if these keys do as I said they would.
