Why won't my CD's read correctly?

I am having problems copying audio cd's on my Creative 4x2x24x. The first batch I created using Sony cd-r's were fine, but since then I haven't had much luck with similarly compatible Memorex or Imation cd-r's.

I don't get any errors during the burn process (using Nero Burning Rom software)but when I go to play them on my portable, they either skip or not play at all. When I play them on the Creative cdrw, the SoundBlaster Playcenter indicates an 'Unsupported Disk'. But when I play them on the DVD drive, the volume is very low.

I do not have any problems with game cd's on the Creative drive.

Any ideas?

Thanks...Joe MacConnel

With the information that you have provided, I would check to see what kind of CD's you are using Are they CD-R's or CD-RW's Some players can't read from the CD-R's but will read from CD-RW's My solution would be to try and use CD-RW's Also make sure that the CD's are PC-compatible and not MAC compatible

Another solution would be to check your mixer settings Click Start, Programs, Multimedia and click Volume Control When the Volume Control Dialogue box appears, move the Master Volume and CD Volume sliders at least 3/4 up
