I really did attempt to find the answer in the "previously asked" section, but couldn't. Please let me know if my question's answer is available there and I need to look harder! I have a new (purchased July 1999) Compaq Presario 5360 and when I upgraded to AOL 5.0 about 6 months ago I am having problems connecting to the Internet. I get an error message that states "communication port is invalid or busy, possibly in use by another application such as fax or ISP. Please close any open programs or restart Windows." I have closed everything I can, but always have to restart. I have attempted to solve this with computer manufacturer and AOL to no avail. Should I save all my files and do a system restore, then reload AOL? I've heard that this is possibly linked to bugs in th 5.0 version and I should stick with 4.0. Help! Thank you!

Contact Compaq Presario about ISP connection.

Windows has an Internet connection wizard that can help.

Click Start, Programs, Click Communications (to see if you have it)

Depending on the availability in your area, a local ISP may offer more personalized service

Check your phone book Yellow pages under Internet Be sure to shop around and ask for free trial periods.
