I went on the internet in the morning and had no problems. When I tried to get back on later I recieved 630 and 629 errors which in win98 trouble shooter didn't have. I then went to my connection and found out that the computer doesn't even see the modem anymore. The computer was never moved or touched since the first connection in the morning. I opened the case and the modem inside was still connected.

Thanks,

Diana

IF you have a PCI modem sometimes if windows has any problems it can "forget" that you have a modem installed and you'll need to reboot the system for it to "find" the modem again Since PCI modems are all controlled by software this can happen if your machine locks up, gets random error messages, crashes while connected to the internet If you have the manufacturers name and internet address you can try to find updated drivers for the modem and install these.

Check out www.windrivers.com for more info on searching for the modem manufacturer and drivers.
