Why does my mouse pointer sometimes disappear?

When I perform a find with either Window-f or ctrl-f, my mouse pointer sometimes disappears inside the active window. This doesn't happen all the time, but more often than not. I have to open up a new window and voila my mouse pointer is back - what's happening?

It sounds as though your operating system is losing track of your mouse during multi-tasking (running more than one program at a time) It may help to download and install the newest drivers from the web site of the company that makes your mouse.
