I have a older Packard Bell Which I upgraded with a new overdrive processor, and more memory. I also bought a 1.6 GB hard drive and had a computer shop install it for me. When I brought it home I began to install Windows 98 and it did all the checks that it was supposed to and it verified that I did have a 1.6 GB HD. When I finished installing Windows 98 and went to verify how much disk space I had using "My Computer" it said I only had a 540 MB HD. What happened?? How can I "lie" to my computer to fix this problem??? Any help would mean alot.

Thanks,

Eric Wise

Right click on the hard drive icon under My Computer and it should bring up a pie chard showing used and free portion of the hard drive Check to see how much is being used Also, this will tell you the total space available which will let you know if that computer company formatted the drive to the full size of 1.6gb.
