Unwanted e-mail

We have used the same e-mail address for probably 4 years now and the last several years I am the only one using this address. I go through periods of time where I receive pornographic e-mails that I have not subscribed to. In times past I do not know if my husband or his son when he lived with us briefly had ever given out the address or not.

Most of the time I don't open them, just send to trash and after several weeks or so of doing this it seems they stop for 6-8 months or longer, then out of the blue they start up again. I have asked my ISP how to best handle these(they have some filters in place) and even forwarded some on so they could try to get them stopped but I'm still receiving them. How is the best way to deal with this unwanted trash? Is it true that it helps to not open them and the senders think the e-mail address is no longer an active account? Please help as I do not enjoy seeing this crap in my inbox. Thank you.

Hello and thanks for sending your question I have the exactly the same problem I think this is what happens with major ISP like AOL, MSN etc...Major ISP's and their subscribers like you and I became a big target with all these people who are making pornographic materials into huge businesses In the beginning I used to get tons of these unwanted e-mail What I do is just delete them permanently without opening it It did help for me although not totally eliminating the problem I used to get a lot (at least 10 or more a day) Sometimes that's all I get in my e-mail But now sometimes I don't even get them anymore I think anybody who continue to have an e-mail address and surf the internet will always be a target with all these people Good luck!

Thanks,
