I want my roomate to be able to use my computer only for the internet. How do I create a password for my printer so only I can use it? Please help, I have had to buy so much ink!

Hello and thank you for sending your question.

The only way you can protect your computer or any files you do not want anybody to access is set up a log on password, but since you wanted your roomate to be able to access your computer for the internet you can't stop her/him to use your printer Windows Nt4.0 has the capability on who to allow/not to allow to use printer resources, but not Windows 9x.

I would suggest that you talk to your roomate and have your roomate share the cost of the printer ink cartridges It's only fair that your roomate share the cost Please, let us know the outcome.

Good luck,
