Most programs that you download are compressed in some form or
another When you run the setup program, (usually install shield),
the files are decompressed, and extracted to your destination folder.
When you run the setup application, you are usually given an option
where you wish to install the files to If your the type of person
like me, you just say ok to everything and away you go Most of the
time a new folder is created for you, and the files needed to run
the application are kept there.
If for some reason you extract your files to the same folder that
the downloaded program is in: It would be unsafe to delete that
folder
If you extract your files to a new folder (which occures most of the time) you will have no problem deleting the downloaded files.
Beware, you may need to re-install that application at a later time
if a file becomes corrupted Without those downloaded files you
will not be able to do that.
Good luck.
