Several programs load on startup - they appear with the time and volume control at the right edge of the Task Bar.

How can I remove some of those programs from running at Start-up time? They do not appear under Programs in the Start-up directory.

If you are running windows 98 or later you can use the msconfig utility that is built into the O/S But, since you are using Windows 95 you would have to edit the registry manually to remove these programs from starting up There is too much involved for just anyone to go into the registry and start making changes so we're not going to go into the exact details If you mess up your Windows 9x registry you can leave your system in an unoperable state We would suggest you either upgrade to a version of Windows 98 or take your machine to a qualified repair shop that can work within the Windows registry safely.
