Formatting and partitioning Hard Drive

Hi,

I recently bought new Compaq PC.I am novice user.I want to know how to partition and format Hard Disk and how to install MS Wndows 98 Second Edition?

Please help me.

It's not that easy to do on a Compaq computer They put BIOS information on the hard drive in what is called a diagnostic partition If you repartition and reformat your hard drive you can lose this partition and severely impair your computer That is also why most OEM manufacturers include a quick restore cd with their machines so you can reformat and reinstall an O/S with minimal effort If you want Windows 98 SE on your machine you'd be best to go out and buy the upgrade and install it over the top of what is already there.
