Hello!

This is an old question, but I will answer it assuming you have already bought your Dell (a good brand, by the way) It sounds like they were asking you to find a software called a driver for your printer that is compatible with Windows ME, your operating system

Basically, you can think of a driver as a "translator" between your operating system (and you) and your printer Without the proper driver, your printer and operating system won't understand each other.

Go to the Lexmark website and search for downloads, then find the drivers section Search for your printer's driver, download it, and install it following Windows ME help for "Installing a new driver" in the Control Panel, Printers, Properties.

I hope your experience with Windows ME has been better than mine I had to uninstall it and reinstall Windows 98 on my computer at home I had nothing but trouble with ME! Good luck, and email back again.
