How can I determine what "other" application is running that is utilizing my scanner? I start my scanner application and it says "Sorry, cannot access your scanner. Your scanner is currently being accessed by another application. Please wait for the other application to finish or close it to allow HP PrecisionScan access".

This just started occuring.

thank you for your assistance

In order to find the conflict, you need to click Start, Settings, Click Control Panel Double-click System, click Device Manager Tab Click View devices by type Find your scanner(there is probably an exclamation point)- double-click scanner, Property box will pop up, Click the General tab, look for Device status, this will tell you whether there is a conflict Click on the Resource tab Towards the bottom there is a box called Conflicting device list This is where you should find your conflict

To resolve this, you may want to refer to HP's troubleshooting guide http://hpcc923.external.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport/get_doc.pl?SNI=c5192a&LC=scanners&Tfile=bps02714

Good Luck
