I have a 6 year old that uses the computer for games and educational software. Several weeks ago the autorun stopped working when you isert a CD. You can start programs / cd's the longway, but that is difficult for a six year old to remember. The software all work fine none of them will autorun, they used too. I have tried everything short of uninstalling the cd drive and reinstalling it. The proper boxes are checked under device manager, unchecking and re saving the settings havn't worked. I even rebooted and ran maintainence in between trying to reset the autorun setting. There was a similar question posted on your site but the only answer was to open the progams the long way which a six year old can't do. Any suggestions would be welcomed, thanks.

I would suggest reinstalling your drivers for your cd-rom You can do this by going into control panel, settings, double-clicking System When System Properties appear,go to Device Manager, double click cd-rom, double-click the cd-rom that you are having the problem, and click the Driver tab Click reinstall drivers If this doesn't help, please resubmit your question.

Good luck to you and your six-year-old.
