Why does my system restart?

When I click Shut Down on the Shut Down window, the computer restarts. Only the power button on the computer will shut it down.

If your computer is restarting after you click shutdown and o.k the windows shut down dialog box that pops up, double check the selection in that box to make sure that it shut down and not restart is your choice If this is not the case, something in Windows is corrupt and it will probably need to be reinstalled.
