The available command line switches for scanreg are as follows;

scanreg/BACKUP : Backup the registry and related system configuration files.

scanreg/RESTORE : Choose a backup to restore.

scanreg/FIX : Repair the registry (This is a last resort option,use caution)

scanreg/OPT : Compacts the registry by removing empty keys.

scanreg/COMMENT="comment" : Adds the specified comment to the CAB file while backing up.

In order to use Scanreg you must do the following:

Tap the F8 key during the startup of your computer to access the Startup Menu Choose the 'command prompt only' option from the boot menu to drop to a C: prompt, then type scanreg/'switch'.
