Why does pc go into Safe Mode?

dont know if the problem is what you would call an error but at times when i boot up my comp.it will go into rhe safe mode where i have windows me installed i have to go to restore system and set up a new date to get back to windows me.

what am i doing wrong!!!!

I have a question for you, are you closing windows down properly? To do so you must choose Shut Down from the Start Menu If you are just turning the computer off then you are losing data every time including system data and Windows will then start only in Safe Mode.
