Hello [email protected]!!

Thanks for the oportunity to assist you.

Your problem seems much like the one I'm experiencing too.

I have also recently upgraded the drivers for my video card and my

pointer has developed the 'habit' of disappearing I must tell you

that this was not unexpected as I researched the 'known issues'

(at the website) for the driver that I was updating to I think

Gateway had you on the right track, just a little uninformed as to

the consequences of using that particular video card Your request

for service regarding this matter was very likely not the first they

had received, if that makes you feel any better

In any case, please, re-visit the website for the video card

manufacturer and find the card/drivers for what you are running.

There you should also be able to locate any information they have

about the 'known issues' for your particular Win98 and card/driver

combination There could possibly be a work-around solution offered.

For example, in my case, I had to get into the Display properties and

clear the 'Smooth edges of screen fonts' checkbox to make the

screen fonts readable As I said, I knew about this possibility in

advance, which makes it a little less annoying.

Also, just to double-check, after down-loading the current drivers,

you did actually install them and reset your display properties,

true?

Please, feel free to contact me if you have more questions or need

further assistance, and re-connect to www.computerproblems.com thru

I hope this helps and good luck....
