On the Computer Corner show on February 10, 2001, you started talking about McAfee WebScanX and ran into a commerical so couldn't finish how to disable or get rid of it. I did check my McAfee folder and WebScanX is there and based on what you said, it really slows things down. I'd like to delete it but would like instructions. I've done a search within your web site and can't find anything.

Thank you!!

I believe what you may be writing about is about webscan locking up while being online

Webscanx scans for hostile java, cgi scripts, etc. and attempts to stop them from running.

Uninstall and reinstall McAfee again with a selective or custom setup and do not select webscanx when prompted by the software.

If you prefer to not disable WebScanX, the following article was found at

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q191/6/33.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=Webscanx&rnk=1&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=W98

Before doing this make sure that you version of WebScanX relates to the article.

I hope that this answers your question.

Good Luck.
