what is a competitive upgrade?

You are making a competitive upgrade when you buy newer software that is written by a software company that is different than the company that wrote your existing software For example, say you own a photo editing software program written by ABC Software Company, and the software is 1 year old Then, say, you see a brand new photo editing software written by Starbright Software When you buy the new software you are making a competitive upgrade If Starbright is offering a special price for the competitive upgrade, you will generally have to show proof of purchase of ABC Software's product to be eligible for the special pricing offered as a "Competitive Upgrade".
