I AM GOING TO BUY A NEW COMPUTER. HOW DO I TRANSFER FILES FROM THE OLD ONE AND MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF WINDOWS 98. CAN I USE THE COPY ROUTINE TO THE ZIP AND THE PASTE ROUTINE ON THE NEW SYSTEM.

A:Hello and thank you for your question.

You can transfer files from one computer to another by copying files and saving to a floppy and then loading them to your new computer, but that would be very time consuming If your asking a guarantee that "nothing bad" will happen to your new computer and Windows 98, there is no guarantee because with computers, you can never be too sure.

If you have a ZIP drive, I suggest that you use it It is the same process as the floppy, but can take a lot more and YES, you can use the COPY and PASTE routine Good luck!

Thanks,
