How can I delete unwanted web site addresses from my address bar on the tool bar at the top of my screen? Thank you for your time and help.
This question was answered on June 12, 2001. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.
When you access a website with your web browser, it's default setting is to store those addresses and make them available to you everytime you start up that application, no matter what internet service provider you use
If you use a provider like AOL that runs you through their server to gain access to the internet, then they usually have a settings or preferences menu that will allow you to not store addresses between sign-ons It may take a while and possibly a phone call to locate this menu within other menus but it will help you keep things less cluttered once you find it Because browser windows can differ a bit it's tough to know which drop down menu it will be in, but just keep clicking and digging and you will find it.
In addition to this method of clearing things out you can also access your internet options in your contol panel menu to make other adjustments with regard to how long your system holds history and to purge your temporary files accumulated while on the net.
I hope this info helps, and good luck..
