This question was answered on April 3, 2001. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

Going to a DSL line can be advantagous if you want to further increase the speed of internet access A DSL provides access to the full bandwidth for data transfer and in addition to making the standard uses of internet access faster and easier, also opens the door to new DSL based opportunities

Many consumers are adopting DSL at a rapid rate to take advantage of the convenience and selection of high-quality video entertainment on demand, in their living rooms ZoomTown.com, together with Intertainer, uniView Technologies Corp and Microsoft Corp will market-test a service to provide asymmetrical digital subscriber line (ADSL) broadband entertainment directly to consumers' televisions.

ZoomTown.com expects to deploy the service to its more than

35,000 subscribers next year following successful completion of the

trial.

Eventually, everyone will want to take full advantage of these possiblities as entertainment options increase, so getting DSL will probably help you take advantage of the newest internet uses.

Hope this helps, and thanks for the question
