What are some advantages of DSL?

WHAT WOULD THE ADVANTAGES / DISADVANTAGES BE OF MY GOING TO DSL?

I HAVE TWO LINES; PHONE AND INTERNET--BOTH ARE FREE, BUT I DO PAY FOR THE ISP. I AM RETIRED AND MY COMPUTOR IS STRICKLY FOR PERSONAL USE==E-MAIL,WEB SITES AND INTERNAL STUFF, NO CHAT ROOMS TODATE. OH, YES, I DO SEND SOME SCANNED PICTURES AND THE B&W GO OUT FAIRLY QUICK BUT THE COLORED ONES TAKE FOREVER. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE.
