I was ready to purchase a flatbed scanner that was powered through the USB port. This sounded good to me-one less power cord to deal with. Then I was reading a review that said being USB powered was a bad thing; however, the article did not provide an explaination.
What is your opinion on this?

Thank you for your question I have never heard or read anything that says USB is a bad thing In a few years most if not all computers will only have USB ports I just bought a scanner that is USB powered and I love it for the simple reason that I can plug it in and unplug it while the computer is on, so therefor I only have the scanner taking up space when I use it, the rest of the time I store it in a drawer.
