My computer came with edos RAM chips. I upgraded from 32 to 64 and I get lots of messages about not enough memory. My hard drive is 50% full. Can I replace the packard bell edos RAM with SDRAM which are often on sale and go from 64 to 128? Or must I replace edos with edos?

Hello, yes you must replace EDO RAM with EDO RAM EDO RAM is 72 pin, (the bottom of the EDO chip has 72 contact points to align with the motherboard 72 pin slot) The SDRAM RAM has 168 pin, to connect to the appropiate 168 pin slot Be sure that when you do replace the EDO RAM that you replace them in pairs, that is a requirement for EDO RAM Thanks for you question, Good luck and thank you for using computer problems
