i have redhat linux-7 installed .

i have a problem with my system. after connecting to net ,netscape(any net software) does not open any site.

on opening any site netscape shows the message--------

THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR SERVER NAME . IF YOUR SITE MUST USE A NON-ROOT NAME SERVER, YOU WILL NEED TO SET THE $SOCKS_NS ENVIORMENT VARIABLE TO A POINT AT THE APPROPRIATE SERVERNAME. IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO SET THIS VARIABLE, OR THE SOCKS , HOST PREFRENCE, TO THE IP ADDRESS OF THE HOST IN QUESTION RATHER THAN ITS NAME.

CONSULT YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTER.

yahoo messenger also doesnot connect me to its server.showing server not found.

no net utility connnect to net.

plz help me out.

thank you.
