Whenever I go to system properties and click on the device Manager Tab, my modem automaticly starts to dial up and connects to the internet. It does this everytime.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for emailing back with your additional information

If you haven’t done so before, I would go back into the control panel, click on modems, this will take you to the modem properties Using the general tab, click your modem, then click Remove.

At this point the computer will need to be restarted By restarting the computer, it will detect your modem as new hardware Go through the steps that the wizard Have the computer select the best drivers When installed the computer may suggest restarting the computer When it is back up and running, go back to System Properties in your control panel See if this has corrected your problem with Device Manager If you find that you are having conflicts, you may need new drivers for your modem With the information you provided in your email, they are available at http://www.windrivers.com/script/drivers.asp?company=Pctel

I also found http://www.pctel.com/media/data_sheets/2303w.pdf This is information for PcTel about your modem

I wish you good luck If you still have problems, feel free to write back into www.computerproblems.com.
