Canon has issued a recall on 60,000 FaxPhone B640 fax/copiers that were sold between September 30, 1999 and January 26, 2000 as they may pose a fire hazard.There have been 5 reports of these units catching fire Canon recommends consumers stop using these units immediately and contact them to get a replacement unit.
All FaxPhone B640s bearing the following serial numbers:
UKK52923 to UKK55442
UKK60513 to UKK99999
YKK02001 to YKK20000
qualify for a no-cost replacement from Canon.
To get the info for the recall, call Canon at (888) 280-7858 between 8 a.m and 12 a.m ET Monday through Friday, and between noon and 8 p.m ET Saturday or get the specifics on their website at:
