Hi Danielle

It would sound like the 8 beeps that you hear will be the issue An 8 beep error code means that there is a problem with your video card, and that is why your monitor is not functioning There are two ways to fix the problem. The first is to remove the cover off the computer with the power supply unplugged, trace the monitor cable to the back and find the video card inside Make sure that the video card has not come loose by gently pushing it into the slot If it is loose, power up and try it If it is not loose then you will need to install a new video card Make sure the power is unplugged and you are grounded properly for this type of work. One little spark of Electrostatic Dischage and it would more than likely destroy the video card.

Good Luck

Scott
