When I switch on, as the system is loading, I'm getting a message come on the desktop saying;Error Starting Programme. The CTSYSVOL.exe file is linked to missing export MFC42.DLL:6453. I close this only to get another saying, Error Starting Programme. The MNYUI.DLL file is linked to missing exportMFC42.DLL:6449. When I close this I appear to be into the system with no further problems! I've run Disk Defragmenter & Scandisk re-booted but still get the messages at start up. The only thing I did differently was to run a disc tutorial. HELP PLEASE

Hi Derek,
It would apear that the dll file MFC42 is missing or corrupted. What you will need is a restore disc that may or may not have come with your system. If you do not have it you can call HP and get one.Once you get the disc, install it and it will add any missing fill's that you may have.
Good Luck
