I am consistently getting the following message: "EXPLORER has caused an invalid page fault in module TAPI32.DLL at 015f:7f9abd64." This closes down EXPLORER and inactivates my desktop.

I also am occasionally getting the following message, followed by a black screen with little dots all over it: Fatal exception OE has occurred at 015F: BFF996EF.

Are these related? What can I do to remedy this situation? Thanks!

Thanks for your response.

Taking the message and the profile given into consideration, I don't know if

uninstalling / reinstalling Explorer would resolve the problem Unless it

was a recent install that didn't go well.

This may also be one of the many 'glitches' within Win98 that may have a

'fix' in Win98Second Edition In reference to the statement I made about the

TAPI drivers for modems being auto installed with the op sys, an upgrade to

Win98SE might provide the resolution for the TAPI32.dll.

It is even a possibility that the version of Explorer is not compatible with Win98OE

Part 2

Error Message "A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 015F:BFF996EF" during Shutdown with Windows 98.

1) Many times this error is eliminated by disabling the Fast Shutdown using MSCONFIG.

2) This problem might also be caused by RealPlayer If you have recently installed RealPlayer and the problem showed up, try un-installing RealPlayer and see if the problem goes away.

3) Might be caused by video driver problems, reboot in safe mode and look for duplicate devices in device manager ( such as two identical sound cards)

4) Might be related to sound card drivers or corrupted wav sound file that plays the exit windows sound.
