Having a problem with getting connected to the internet.......

Question

I have a problem with the connection and getting disconnected from the internet. So that I wouldn't get disconnected from the internet, I did what it said to do in one of the answers you guys gave for a question relating to my problem. I went into 'CONTROL PANEL' and clicked on MODEMS, once the dialogue window popped up, I clicked on 'DIALING PROPERTIES' and in 'MY LOCATION' I checked 'To Disable Call Waiting, Dial:' and scrolled down to *70 in the 'When Dialing From Here' box, like it said to do. I tried connecting and the line was always busy. Do I have to do that after I connect? Please Help...

Hello, sorry to hear that you are having trouble with getting connected The answer is "No" to your last question You don't have to be connected to make those changes And, after you have made those changes, did you click the "apply" button? You didn't say so and it's easy to just make changes and not apply As far as to getting busy signal is a problem of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) If you are getting a busy signal often, you might want to consider changing your ISP Or, at least call them and ask for a different dial-in number They usually have several numbers for each area.

Good luck this time and we are here to help you always!
