The way to set a password accesss to your Windows 98, is to Click on The START>Settings, scroll to control panel click and the control panel dialouge box will open Find the Passwords Icon, which looks like three keys Click on it and the passwords configuration box will open Now set you password for the computer, click ok and exit Now the next time you turn on your computer the password box will appear You now have a controlled access to your computer Windows is not the best at keeping people out of your computer so let us hope your roommate doesn't know anything about computers.

I hope this helps you in controlling access to your computer.
