Sometimes when using a dial-up connection, my pc doesn`t show the icon that displays my connection status.

So in order to disconnect, I have to re-boot. The box is checked in the dialing properties window to show the icon in the task bar. What`s going on?

I would appreciate any help you could give me,

Thanks,

Charles Nikitas

Sometimes when the system locks and closes out your Active Desktop, the icon in the taskbar may disappear Instead of rebooting, you can go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Network and Dialup connections You should see the icon that represents your dialer Right click and go to "status" This should give you the option of disconnecting from the internet without rebooting In order to get the icon back in the taskbar, you will have to disconnect and reconnect to the internet
