When trying to delete a single space directory with no character visable I get the error " cannot delete file: file system error (1148)" there seems to be many more sub -directories of this same kind maybe 100 or more. This sub directory is under the directory name ftproot. I can rename the ftproot but cannot delete it. There are no other files in the directory tree.

Thank you for any help on this matter

Have you tried running scandisk in DOS mode? Chkdsk /f usually fixes this kind of problem as well If you don't have a boot disk to do it from DOS, you can also do it from windows Click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, then Scan Disk If it finds any problems it is going to try to fix them If this doesn't work you might want to try running your Anti Virus Software to see if it finds any viruses.
