I own a Gateway computer that runs Windows Millenium (not sure if this is the same as Windows 2000). My web browser is Internet Explorer 5.5 I used to be able to select from multiple search engines by clicking on "Search, then "Customize." I was able to choose from Alta Vista, Euroseek, Yahoo, etc.........I downloaded a recent Microsoft operating system update, and it replaced by default search engine with Microsoft MSN. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone help me learn how to replace MSN with a decent search engine, cause this one stinks!!

Thanks so much.

First of all, Windows ME (Millenium) is not the same as Windows 2000 Windows ME is related to Windows 98, while Windows 2000 was a release that came from Windows NT.

To fix your problem, I would recommend you downloading the Google toolbar at the following link: http://services.google.com/navclient/install.php3

Google is arguably the best search engine out there today and this will allow you to replace the "yucky" MSN search that is built into IE
