How can I speed up my computer?

Processing speed. Everything I do is very, very slow. Including typing this message. I have to wait for the cursor to "catch up". Short of up-grading, what can I do to "speed-up" processing times?

Upgrading is the best option if you are processing too slowly This does not necessarily mean buying a brand new computer You may be able to upgrade your existing system for much less cost The first thing I would try would be to add additional RAM (Random Access Memory) The price of memory has dropped off in recent years and this may give a decent boost to your old system Be sure to research the type of memory you will need and how much RAM your system will support
