Why do I get a blue screen?

While playing Sims Hot Date I get right past the intro when ... Blue screen stating File Name = VMCDP(01) = 0000061C Error:0D:0028:C00522CB It gives the option to hit Enter or Crtl alt delete or esc. When any choice is made computer will freeze and we have to do an improper shut down. How can I play this game without this problem. Please help me!
