Why will my computer not turn on?

My computer suddenly stopped functioning. I turned it on today, and nothing happened! The keyboard doesn't respond, the screen is black, there is no sound from the speakers. I can't even use my "recovery" disk and diskette set I received from Packard Bell to set the computer back to the way it was when I first received it. What could have happened? Is there anything I can do without having to bring a technician?

Thanks a lot for your response.

Tina

It sounds like the computer is not getting power Make sure you check the plugs to see that they are all firmly inserted and check the outlet that you are plugged into to make sure it is getting power Plug something else into the outlet to make sure it works You might be surprised how often something as simple as a bad outlet can be the cause of a problem
