I have a dell inspiron 8000 with Windos ME. I had the free dellnet msn internet connection that came with it. 2 mo after getting it I got Cox Cable modem. Worked great. A few months ago, I loaded Audio galaxy and a nasty friend called bonzi. Got rid of both of those: uninstall, add/removed and thru registry edit. COmputer still slow so I removed Morpheus ( another music share program) just to be thorough. Still slow. Cable guys have been out. Within their network, the speed is up to par. On the ping test, no packages being lost. et cetera. However, on loading internet pages all the speed test come back that we're hooking up at 56.6 Kbps. What else can we do or who else do we need to fix this problem?

Thanks for any advice.

At this point I would recommend saving any files and programs that you want to keep onto a CD-R or a Zip Drive and reloading your operating system This will enable you to start from scratch and there will be no question about whether you have a rogue program in your computer This will cause you to lose everything that you don't save onto a disk, including your settings and favorites But wouldn't it be nice not to worry about what is causing your problems and this time you will know to avoid Bonzi
