sometimes my computer won,t recognise drive c or d and therefor won,t boot.give it a wack and it will.question:is it more likely to be a fault in the wiring or the hard drive?

thankyou for any advise.

Since the problem is intermittent and seems to correct with a wack, it could be that a connection is loose Make sure that all plugs are tight and none of the wires are frayed or broken on the power connection to the hard drive Also, check that the ribbon cable is secure and does not show signs of wear
