I still have yet to get the other problem fixed but I had an error before my computer would not turn on so I want to know how to fix it as well for when I fix the other problem. It said my system32/config.sys file was missing or corrupted , well if I know I did not delete it , it had to of been corrupted. It said I would need to stick in the original setup disk (windows 2000) but the thing is it was preloaded for me and I dont have the software so is there anyway i can fix this problem and recover the file without the need of reinstalling Win2000. Please help when you can, Thanks.

Hi,

Why you are possibly getting this error: a failed autoupdate procedure can corrupt the win 2000 boot menu file(boot.ini file)

The cure: please try re-installing winnt_root\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
