Hello and thank you for your assistance.

My problem:

Out of nowhere the text on my screen will suddenly turn into an unreadable mess and shortly after that my system will hang and the only thing i can do is hit the reset button. This seems to be random. Also, when playing dvd's or 3d video games everything will run very well for a short period then freeze up completely and play whatever sound was playing at the time over and over repeatedly until reset. No error messages are ever displayed.

My system specs:

AMD 1800+

Mach Speed V333U with VIA KT333/VT8235 Chipset w/4.40

Elixir 256MB DDR Memory

ATI Radeon 8500 AGP w/64 DDR and New Drivers

Soundblaster Live 5.1 w/ New Drivers

i've tried several different drivers with my sound and video cards and still the same result. Thank You Very Very Much

You might try changing out your video card Please make certain the video card you decide to buy, or if you decide to buy a video card is on the microsoft HCL list.
