my computer tells me upon bootup that a disk is in the (a) drive. There is no disk in the drive. we have replaced the floppy drive but still get the same error message. If I put in the recovery disk I get the message ( no fixed disk installed and then a time out error message. Is this somthing I can fix or do I need to leave it at the shop or just attack the box with a large hammer?

FIRST OF ALL BACK UP YOUR DATA!!!!!!Try reassigning your drives by making drive c your master drive, d the slave and a the floppy Make sure the right cables are with the right devices.Make sure your drives are partioned and formatted If they are already formatted DON'T DON"T

REFORMAT because you will kill the data.Worst comes to worst if this doesn't work try buying a new drive, or check out your ide slots to make sure they are ok too Also try a new cable for the floppy
