Driver problem. make sure plug is plugged in

My problem is that when I turn on my computer the light on the CD-ROM will blink sometimes. Whenever it does this the computer doesn't recognize the CD-drive or my Zip drive (they don't exist as far as the computer is concerned). After restarting, it will sometimes (this problem is very erratic) fix it until I have to restart again.

My only uneducated guess is that it is a hardware problem because it happens so erratically. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This might be a driver problem Get the make and model of your CD ROM

and make sure you have the latest drivers installed.Check the plug in the back of the CD ROM
