Some of the keys on my IBM Thinkpad laptop have quit working. It is the tab, 1,q,a,& z keys. All the others work fine. Any suggestions? Nothing has been spilled on the laptop so I know there is nothing on the inside.

Even though you have not spilled anything on the keys they will get dirty just from usage Not to mention that parts do get old and need to be replaced from time to time Take your computer in to have it serviced by a reputable tech service If you are the brave type of user you may try cleaning them with a q-tip and alcohol Make certain the power is off and unplugged Turn the laptop upside down and tap on it lightly You will be surprised what comes out of the key board if you eat or smoke around your computer The keys generally pop off easily with a flat head screw driver There is a small spring under each key Maybe the small spring is damaged Remember if you mess up while working with your laptop the cost is yours If you hire a reputable company and something goes wrong it is at thier expense Good Luck!
