When I start my computer it gives me these messsages:

1. can't find file "booming exe."

2. WIN INI file missing

Since this occurred I have been unable to activat CD-Roms for games and I can't install my anti-virus CD. How do I install "boomin exe." and WIN INI file.

Thanks,

Hi,

In regards to booming exe, I'm not sure what you are talking about? Is it boot INI you are talking about? With regards to the Win INI file Microsft does not recommend renaming, moving or deleting other files does not affect file manager's listing of files and directories.

Please try the following to reproduce the win.ini file:

1 load the file manager

2 open the windows directory and select the win.ini file.

3 from the file menu, choose rename.

4 enter a different name for win.ini, such as win.bak

5 choose the ok button
