Try a new video card

Yesterday, my monitor suddenly developed shadowing that emanates from every band of print or color. The shadows extend horizontally to either end of the screen and move with the window when I move the window. I ran self-tests on the monitor and it checked out fine. Also is fine when connected to another computer. So, I deleted and reinstalled the video card driver from the recovery disk and tried changing my monitor settings. Then I scanned for viruses. All of the above failed to fix the problem and now I'm at a loss. Help very much appreciated!
