Windows Compatability list for the HP DeskJet855C printer indicated it was compatible with XP. HP site said that the driver would be furnished by XP.

Installed XP and my printer worked for that session. Logging off and restarting the system the next day the printer would not work.

I have tried the following: removed the printer, removed LPT1 from the system panel. Again XP found the system for that session. I contacted HP and received an automatic and manual approach to install the printer. Neither have worked more than one day.

What do I need to do?

I am already on your email list for virus alerts etc
